America Walks believes every individual should have the right to walk and be physically active. Access to safe, accessible, and enjoyable places to be active leads to healthy individuals, engaged communities, and stronger economies. Walking can be a form of exercise, a way to connect with friends and families, and transportation to get to school, work, and play. Learn how communities and organizations are addressing some of the challenges to walking and physical activity and be inspired with tips for how we can all work to make sure walking, biking, and physical activity can be part of the daily lives of every community member with our March 8th webinar, “The Right to Walk.” This webinar is intended for our advocates just getting started on the walking path as well as anyone interested in learning more about this topic.

Webinar participants will hear from representatives from Salud America, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center and will:
– Learn how communities are overcoming challenges to make sure all members have the ability to physically active;
– Hear how organizations and advocates are working to address disparities in communities across the US; and
– Learn about how the meaning of walking is expanding to include the various ways that people move and stay active in their daily lives.
